When developing design solutions, WYG pays particular attention to the context of the bridge; its setting, ground conditions and environment and the visual, architectural and aesthetic impact. WYG provides expert advice on all the main stages of bridge construction and maintenance including assessment, feasibility studies, construction methodology and outline and detailed design.

WYG also provides bridge engineering services within framework contracts for major clients such as Network Rail and the Highways Agency developing schemes with a focus on buildability.  Our expertise extends across highway and railway infrastructure and includes footbridges, viaducts, river crossings and moving bridges.

Bridge designs are underpinned by our experience of construction techniques suited to all structural forms. Working closely with leading civil engineering contractors within early contractor involvement and design and build projects, we develop innovative and efficient design & build schemes which are buildable whilst meeting client specific requirements.

The bridge team works closely with the Highway, Geotechnical and Environmental teams within WYG to provide a complete design service.
