The integration of various modes of transport is an increasingly important issue. Transport interchange schemes are being promoted by Local Authorities and Transport Executives to promote public transport and reduce the reliance on the private car.

White Young Green (WYG) is frequently involved in transportation projects where the multi-disciplinary skills within the Group combine to add real value. Typically WYG ’s engineering designers work alongside its environmental and town planning teams to ensure a fully integrated solution.

Experience includes the design and management of new transport interchanges for Network Rail, the various train operating companies, Passenger Transport Executives and a number of Local Authorities. Currently there is a close involvement with improvements to and upgrades of existing railway stations to cater for the transfer from one mode of transport to another and to ensure compliance with DDA requirements.

WYG is increasingly involved in total project solutions, working alongside its construction partners. In this environment we recognise the need to deliver safe and buildable solutions both during construction and in service whilst maintaining the ‘landmark’ nature of such projects.
