Legionella
WYG Management Services provide legionella risk assessment, auditing and consultation services to assist clients in understanding their responsibilities and ensuring that their water systems are maintained in a satisfactory condition and that the risk from legionnaires’ disease is kept to a minimum.
The services provided by WYG include:
- Initial full risk assessment of domestic water services
- Visual inspection of domestic cold water storage cisterns and water heaters to confirm compliance with water regulations, identify contamination issues and to determine structural integrity.
- Sampling, visual inspection and microbiological analysis of water stored within hot water heaters and cold water storage cisterns, to confirm the absence of legionella bacteria.
- Temperature profiling for all accessible domestic water service outlets
- Representative sampling of domestic hot and cold water service outlets
- Risk assessment scoring of all outlets
- Production and supply of a site specific schematic showing a representation of the water service pipe work configuration and asset locations
- Supply and auditing of a domestic water services log book (as specified in L8)
- Training of key staff in the operation and usage of the domestic water services log book
- Quarterly audits, comprising temperature profiling and sampling to confirm the absence of legionella bacterium
- Quarterly auditing of the domestic water services log book to ensure continued compliance with the ACoP
- Comprehensive reports after each visit offering recommendations and suggested remedial actions
