Specialist Structures

Architectural Structures
White Young Green (WYG) undertakes the structural design of all types of architectural and building structures, but with a particular interest and expertise in those projects which require an innovative approach.
Examples of such structures include those utilising advanced fibre reinforced polymers (composites), which are complex in shape and form, seek minimum weight and not fall within accepted design codes.
WYG employs a direct calculation or first principle design approach, using mathematical modelling for finite element analysis.
Lightweight and Specialist Structures
WYG is experienced in the structural application of all materials, including polymeric materials. We use appropriate design codes or works by direct calculation on a first principle approach, and often utilise mathematical modelling for finite element analysis, leading to a fully optimised design and an economical structural solution. If required, WYG can offer project management from concept to completion.
Composite Materials (fibre reinforced polymers)
The design and application of composite materials (fibre reinforced polymers) requires specialist experience and knowledge, which WYG has gained through working with these materials in all sectors of industry.
Structures and components have been designed using the many different fibre types - glass, carbon, aramid among others - and for products made in a range of manufacturing processes, such as contact moulding, closed mould, oven cured, pultrusion, prepreg etc.
Our design data has been accumulated over many years, enabling us to pre-select appropriate data for most composites. Our analysis tools are dedicated to fibre reinforced polymerics, enabling FEA at the micro and macro levels.
