Multidisciplinary Consultant Provides Development Control Services to Nakheel.
Leading multidisciplinary consultant White Young Green (WYG) has been appointed to provide development control services for the Dubai Waterfront scheme which will transform 1.4 billion square feet of empty desert and sea into an international community, for an estimated population of 1.5 million people.
The development, which is set to become an exemplar sustainable city, is located on the western shores of Dubai and will be developed on the last 15km of natural coastline in Dubai, providing over 70km coastline when complete, including 23 percent of the Arabian Canal.
Comprising a wide variety of residences, commercial districts and industrial areas, including a number of major tourist attractions and leisure amenities, the scheme will offer both luxury residential and business properties in addition to a selection of affordable housing.
Lawrie Haynes, Chief Executive, WYG, commented:
“The prestigious project will be an invaluable addition to Dubai and we are proud to be appointed by a high profile developer like Nakheel to help them achieve their vision for the Waterfront. Utilising a variety of the Group’s areas of expertise, this is an important project for us that will see a number of our staff relocate to Dubai to service the contract.”
Matt Joyce, Waterfront Managing Director, commented:
“Waterfront is the largest and most ambitious urban development project in the world. Visible from outer space, it is an entirely new city master planned from scratch on a blank canvas. No city of this size has ever been master planned to such a scale.”
