On behalf of Galliard Homes, we have secured full planning permission for Millharbour Village, South Quay, a major residential scheme in London’s Docklands. The new urban village will provide 1,500 new homes, parks, schools and commercial facilities.
Our planners in London undertook extensive pre-application discussions with the local planning authority and other stakeholders.
The Mayor of London decided not to direct determination of the application earlier this year. The Mayor's office said: “The proposed development has been subject to extensive and meaningful pre-application discussions, for which the applicant should be commended, and its design is now strongly supported by the Greater London Authority officers.”
Paula Carney, WYG’s project director on the scheme, said: “We are delighted that our work has helped achieve this exciting new community for London’s Docklands. Good collaborative consultation and dialogue were key to the success of this major planning application.”
Millharbour Village forms a central part of the Isle of Dogs redevelopment and will make a significant contribution towards the capital’s housing needs, including affordable housing, and provide significant community infrastructure. It has been designed to be a community space as well as a place to live and work, providing Docklands’ most generous open spaces and London’s best equipped and landscaped children’s play area.
