The Specialist Structures Group of WYG(formerly known as CETEC), have moved to new offices in Southampton in conjunction with an existing WYG office, as part of their ongoing expansion programme. The opening ceremony was held on the evening of 25th January 2005 and Edwina Cooke, the Sheriff of Southampton was present to cut the ribbon. The Specialist Structures Group undertake the design and analysis of all types of unusual and lightweight structures, in all materials but with particular expertise in the application of FRP composite materials.
WYG, who employ 1800 people over 24 offices in the UK and overseas are a fast expanding multi-disciplinary practise providing consulting advice to a raft of business and public sector clients on engineering, environmental, planning and management services.
David Kendall, Director of Specialist Structures comments:-
"CETEC is now an integrated part of the WYG Group and is internationally recognised for its expertise in specialist structures, providing a platform to enable larger and more complex projects and those with a mixture of both conventional and specialist skills to be undertaken within the WYG Group".
