WYG has become the first major consultancy to take out premier advertising space on the Planning Portal. The Planning Portal (www.planningportal.gov.uk) is quickly becoming the authoritative source for information on all planning matters and will be the principal channel for communication. The Portal provides the ability to submit planning applications online, view development plans and to research all areas of planning. It is expected soon to become the first port of call for all users of the planning system, professional and public.
WYG has assisted in the development of the Planning Portal. On behalf of the Royal Town Planning Institute Gary Morris (Associate) has been a member of the Planning Portal’s Design & Implementation Team while Martin Bailey (Director) has been a member of the Portal Board. Martin now chairs the Planning Portal Editorial Board and sits on the Portal’s Stakeholder Board. Martin Bailey said:
“WYG is delighted to be associated with the Planning Portal in this way. The Planning Portal is an important initiative that will revolutionize the way we communicate information in the planning world. Having been involved from the very early days, we are pleased to be at the forefront of the commercial opportunities now being offered by the Planning Portal as it becomes an integral part of our everyday lives.”
The Planning Portal will help central and local government meet their 2005 target of providing electronic delivery of all services. Already more than half of the local authorities in England and Wales have signed up to the Portal’s services, with the remainder expected to join soon.
WYG’s town planning consultancy is one of the largest specialist teams of chartered town planners in the UK. The firm advises on town planning matters in relation to public and private sector development proposals from offices throughout the Country.
