WYG is helping strengthen trade relations between South Africa and the European Union (EU) as a €1.5m policy dialogue programme is extended.
With the additional €1.5m budget and two-year extension, the project is now set to run until 2015. The global multi-disciplinary consultancy will continue to facilitate meetings between various senior EU officials and South African ministers to improve dialogue and enhance longer term political relationships and cooperation.
Appointed in February 2011, the global multi-disciplinary consultancy has already helped the EU-funded project increase public awareness and build the capacity of stakeholders engaged in trade through twinning initiatives, mentoring programmes, study tours and pilot schemes across a comprehensive range of sectors.
Keith Cook, Director of Programme Management & Policy Advice, WYG said: “I am delighted the EU and our local partners have given their support to this extension because the project is making a significant contribution to South Africa’s trade policy dialogue with the European Union and to vital wealth creation in the country.
“Our presence in, and commitment to, South Africa goes back over seven years and this project provides us with a firm and continuing platform to support future projects.”
