Priory Vale was reputed to be the largest privately funded urban expansion project in Europe when it started in 1995. The project was conceived to fulfil the ambitious housing targets established for the Swindon growth area and has created almost 10,000 new homes, retail space and new schools within a sustainable new community.
We provided a comprehensive project, cost and safety management service for a consortium of clients involved in the project. Our experts worked at both strategic and site level organising the procurement, implementation and handover of the huge range of infrastructure and landscape contracts required on a project of this scale. Our comprehensive involvement also included managing public relations and financial administration activities.
The project is a model for higher density, architectural-led urban design and is strongly characterised by its commitment to ecology and sustainability. In addition to delivering a high quality public realm for the development, a Site of Special Scientific Interest was created, along with improved habitats for a number of protected species.
