Water is often at risk of being overshadowed by the emphasis in Carbon Management and its role in Climate Change. However, it is increasingly recognised that water is one of the key issues going forward both globally and in the UK. This is also reflected in the amount of regulatory focus and legislation that is bringing water to the top of the agenda.

With the Water Framework Directive reaching the critical first phase of implementation, and widespread consultation on how planning guidance should better incorporate water issues, it has never been more important to understand and incorporate water issues into all new developments and strategies.
