Creating cohesive communities
The process of sustainable development must consider every individual and never forget the poor, vulnerable and excluded.
In service of this we are contributing significantly to social and economic development around the world, and are having a particular impact upon the delivery of a number of social objectives. We strengthen communities at risk from social insecurity, including conflict-affected states and areas where groups are excluded because of their ethnicity, religion, sexuality or gender. We raise awareness of available services among disadvantaged groups and help build capacity to support the inclusion of marginalised groups.
Our extensive experience allows us to take a people-centric approach in mitigating conflict and creating cohesive communities. We see the Millennium Development Goals as our own goals, and ensure that our work with social issues helps empower individuals wherever we work.
