8 year old Finlay Taylor, of Manchester, won a competition organised by multidisciplinary consultancy WYG to design the company’s greetings card for this festive season. Finlay, who attends Our Lady of Rosary Primary School in Davyhulme, received a £500 cheque for new art and sport material for his school during assembly on Tuesday.
Earlier this year, WYG invited its employees’ children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews between the ages of 3 and 11 to participate in the competition. Each entry had to be considerate of the different cultures, traditions and religious beliefs of WYG’s clients and partners around the world.
Lynda Clarke, Marketing, Communications and Engagement Director, WYG, presented Finlay with his prize: “Congratulations to Finlay who has come up with a beautiful design that is both technically accomplished and captures the unifying spirit of Christmas perfectly.”
Paul Hamer, Chief Executive of WYG, commented: “All of the entries from the children were very impressive and festive. The judging panel selected Finlay’s design as it epitomised the simple spirit of Christmas from a child’s view. Very well done to him.”
WYG employs around 1,500 people around the world and provides programme, project management and technical consultancy. The broad spectrum of in-house expertise across eight core sectors enables WYG to undertake ambitious projects that make a positive impact on local infrastructure, the environment, and socio-economic development in the UK and abroad.
