Congratulations to our Head of Asset Management Craig Hatch who was named ‘Businessperson of the year’ at this year’s CN Group Business Awards. Craig received his award during a ceremony at Low Wood Bay Resort, Ambleside, on 21st October.
The annual awards organised by CN Group in association with the Centre of Nuclear Excellence celebrate the achievements of the people and businesses within the Cumbria community.
On winning the award Craig said: “It is a very proud moment and a fantastic honour to receive this award especially given the high quality people we have operating all sizes of business within the county. Cumbria is very close to my heart and I am keen to see the region’s immense potential unlocked, for the benefit of the whole country and the generations to come.”
Craig is the Director of our Cockermouth office, which boasts a proud nuclear heritage and long standing involvement in the regeneration of Cumbria with landmarks projects such as North West Coast Connection, Albion Square, the Energus Centre, Cockermouth Hospital, Workington Leisure Centre, to name a few.
A fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and of the Chartered Institute of Building, he heads our global Asset Management team from his base in Cockermouth. He has been instrumental in securing key commercial deals in the region; most recently the Civil Inspection and Topographical Surveying Services Term Contract at Sellafield in March 2016, and the United Utilities Plc AMP6 Geospatial Services Framework in June 2016.
Craig also leads our strategy for growth with UK’s Energy Coast, taking an active role in supporting socio-economic development in Cumbria, working with the local supply chain, and employing local workforce.
Outside of his role at WYG, Craig serves as a parent representative for WellChild, the national charity for sick children whose work ensures the best possible care and support for these children and their families. He was recently commended at the Wellchild awards for his work on #notanurse_but campaign.
