We are delighted to announce that Dr Faruk C. Tekindaǧ has been appointed the new Head of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, based in Ankara, Turkey. He joins the senior management team reporting to the Chief Executive of WYG, Paul Hamer.
Faruk holds a PhD from Anadolu University, Turkey, and brings 30 years’ experience in development banking, SME and private sector development, project development, project finance, consultancy services, as well as EU and other donor funded projects.
Previously, he worked for Development Bank of Turkey for 25 years and has acquired comprehensive understanding of all aspects of financial management and expert knowledge of EU project Cycle Management methodology. This extensive involvement in EU funded projects has enabled him to train more than 2,000 individuals in Project Cycle Management in Turkey. He has also trained a further 700 professionals in investment project evaluation, financial analysis and feasibility studies in Turkey, Philippines, Ethiopia and Ukraine.
Faruk initially joined WYG in Turkey in October 2007 and became Finance Director in 2014. He succeeds to Levant Erkan, who was Head of the MENA region since the inception of WYG in Turkey in 2003.
