We have made four new appointments to our London planning team in response to rapidly expanding workloads, in particular in the residential and commercial sectors. The move brings the number of fee-earners up to 14.
Nigel Abbott and Ben Simpson join as directors. Nigel, who has 26 years’ planning experience, was head of the planning and regeneration team at Cluttons, from where he has brought his portfolio of clients and work. As part of his contract, Nigel provides Cluttons with regular planning advice to enable both companies to work more closely together on projects. Ben was previously with Carter Jonas in its London office where he was a partner in the Planning and Development team. With 17 years’ planning experience, Ben’s specialism is strategic land promotion; he will focus on work within the south east.
Adam Beamish and Amy Lee join as an Associate and Senior Planner. Previously a principal planner at Cunnane Town Planning, Adam has wide residential and commercial experience, securing permissions and consents for many large-scale proposals covering all of the south-east. Amy was formerly a planner with CBRE and has experience of large, residential-led mixed-used developments in Central London.
Chris Tennant, London Planning Office Head, said: “Nigel, Ben, Adam and Amy are very welcome additions to our busy team. It is an exciting time for the London office as we continue to grow and successfully deliver complex projects for our clients and partners. In London, the housing crisis is the biggest challenge facing us all. At the same time, the loss of office accommodation means that office rents and demand are increasing. We will continue to bring together decision-makers to meet identified needs in the right locations, and create innovative solutions and schemes.”
WYG’s planning teams are based in 14 offices across the UK.
