Dr Nelson Ogunshakin OBE, Chief Executive Officer of Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE), announced on Wednesday the creation of a Northern Region Group representing ACE across Yorkshire and Humberside. This new regional group is to be Chaired by Marc Davies, Head of Discipline for Geo-Environment and Waste Resources at WYG. The news was made public during an evening reception gathering Yorkshire businesses at our headquarters in Leeds.
At a time when the Leeds City Region has just been awarded an unprecedented £1 billion growth deal, the creation of a new ACE Group to coordinate the activities of the association in Yorkshire, Humberside and the North East of England is a major step towards supporting the development of both technical and social infrastructure in the region.
Marc Davies said: “I am delighted to have been appointed Chair of the new ACE Group in the Northern Region. It is clearly a new and exciting era for the region with major opportunities to improve infrastructure, housing, employment, research, education and the wider economy. As technical consultants and experts in a wide range of disciplines, WYG and the wider industry have a key role to play in this development.”
