Congratulations to Richard Blake, Project Manager based at our Manchester office, who has recently been awarded full membership by the award-winning Association for Project Management (APM).
The APM has over 21,150 members worldwide and provides leadership to organisations and individuals who work within project management.
Achieving Full Member status of the association demonstrates Richard’s professional achievement. He has over five years’ experience and was awarded full membership following an application, which is reviewed by the APM membership panel. He was successful in showing practical experience in managing projects and key control functions within a larger project, from a practical and professional standpoint.
He said: “I am lucky to work within such a highly motivated team in Manchester where I can continue to develop my Project Management skills. Achieving full membership is an important step in my career progression and I owe a debt of gratitude for the support and encouragement to my colleagues Steve Fowler, Jon Bailey and Michelle Hamilton.”
Richard has been with WYG for four years and during that time has worked on various projects including the CEST contract in Afghanistan before returning to the UK as a site based Clerk of Works on the BORONA project in Stafford. Richard has also been site based at the Fulwood Barracks, Preston and Parson Barracks, Donnington to work on specific DIO projects. He is currently working on Leeds Oncology Hospital, Liverpool John Moores University and various HCA projects.
There are many benefits associated with the membership status, one of which is being able to use post-nominal letters ‘MAPM’ after his name.
Full members are also entitled to vote in board elections and at general meetings and stand for election to the APM board and hold a range of volunteer roles in the association.
