We are supporting development on a £6.5m primary and nursery school development in Gloucestershire - Hunts Grove Primary Academy - which will become a new educational hub for the Hunts Grove community once complete.
Working for developer Crest Nicholson, our team has supported the work on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council and the Robinswood Academy Trust, providing project management and quantity surveying services throughout the process.
Crest Strategic Projects, a division within Crest Nicholson, appointed WYG to provide project management, cost consultancy and contract administration services, for the planning and delivery of the primary infrastructure and community facilities. The school forms part of a wider Hunts Grove development our team has supported since commencement of development in 2009. Estimated for completion in 2025, the scheme will deliver 1,750 private and social houses along with a variety of community facilities and a neighbourhood centre.
Brinly Owen, Associate Director at WYG, said: “WYG has a longstanding relationship with Crest Nicholson, delivering schemes in multiple locations around the country. We are thrilled to continue that partnership to help deliver infrastructure that will improve employment, social, commercial, and community space to the benefit of the Gloucester community.”
The single-storey school has been designed to fulfil all major requirements in adherence to 21st century learning within a safe, flexible, and efficient environment. It has also been designed to the Sunesis Keynes standard, which provides certainty of time, cost, and quality to customers.
Back in November, our team attended the official groundbreaking ceremony onsite in Gloucestershire, where Willmott Dixon along with Brinly took the time to explain to students how the school will be built.
