WYG volunteers take to the streets for Poppy Appeal, which aims to raise over £1M. Many employees are keen to volunteer their time “to the memory of the fallen and the future of the living” as the work undertaken by The Royal British Legion resonates with both their personal and professional lives.
Andrew Fotherby, Director, WYG, comments: “We recognise the incredible work of The Royal British Legion and their commitment to providing hope for the Armed Forces community of all ages. Demonstrating our support particularly matters to us because we have a strong bond with the Armed Forces and a long-standing history of working alongside service personnel in difficult conditions. Much of our work is also focused on making a positive impact on the living and working conditions, and welfare of service personnel and their families.”
We will be fundraising throughout the UK during the week from 30 October until 6 November. We have been involved in international projects to facilitate stability, socio-economic development and reconstruction in areas affected by conflicts. We employ service personnel who bring skills and values that are instrumental to the organisation’s success. We also aim to make a difference by providing work placements to service personnel returning to civilian life and offering business mentoring to the Royal British Legion Charity.
