During six weeks of summer (19th June – 30th July), colleagues from across the globe pushed themselves to their limits climbing virtual peaks as part of WYG Active’s employee engagement challenge, High Five!
High Five! took participants on a virtual journey of reward and achievement starting from the foothills of Ben Nevis in Scotland to the snowy peaks of Mount Everest in Nepal.
Physical activity under five sporting categories (walking, running, cycling, rowing, and swimming) was tracked using Strava and converted into metres to climb every mountain.
After 42 days of pure effort, our colleagues celebrated success as they climbed an incredible 819,339m over five virtual peaks, logging 10,211 activities, covering 84,370km. What a fantastic achievement with some inspirational stories along the way.
Well done to everyone who took part and especially to our winners who pushed themselves all the way to High Five glory.
Join us in giving an ultimate high five to our King and Queen of the mountain, James Hutchinson (Leeds) and Catherine Cooke (London) who also topped the cycling leader boards too. Together have ridden a total of 3719 km and climbed 40,693m. Surely contenders for the Tour de France next year wouldn’t you say?
The High Five website is now showing the final podiums.
If you like the sound of this and are interested in getting involved next year, why not search and apply for roles at WYG? We have a dedicated careers website listing a variety of vacancies based in the UK and overseas.
