The image of a rainbow flag has become synonymous with the LGBT+ community, a powerful symbol of the need to change attitudes and break down barriers in society.
When it was first suggested that we should join our peers in openly stating our commitment to inclusion and diversity there was unanimous support, after all we want social change to be part of our DNA and we believe in everything that Pride stands for.
But changing our logo, is that even allowed?
If we’re to embrace the freedom of expression that Pride creates then the answer is yes, although under the watchful eye of our senior graphic designer of course! Taking the outline seal from around the WYG letters reinforces our commitment to breaking down barriers and the rainbow defines our commitment to diversity, whether that be our people, clients, suppliers or partners who identify as LGBT+
So, over the next two weeks you may see our Pride logo on email footers, social media etc. We hope you like it. Feel free to drop us a line on Twitter @wyggroup using the hashtag: #wygpride to let us know what you think!
