It's World Africa Day, and it's a day we're particularly excited to celebrate given our team's ongoing efforts to make a meaningful difference in the region.
Africa continues to march towards a more prosperous future in which all citizens across its many diverse cultures - young, old, male, female, rural, urban, of all creeds and backgrounds - are empowered to realise their full potential and live with satisfaction and pride for their continent. We're helping to build that future with healthy, well-educated people living in robust and developed economies.
As part of our celebration, we are devoting the day to profiling some of our projects in the region. Having just recently opened our brand new office in Nairobi, our presence has enjoyed a renewed commitment to Kenya and the greater East Africa.
As Sam Gituro, Associate at WYG in Nairobi, puts it: "I am particularly fond of the African proverb, 'if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’ I have immense appreciation for the Kenya team and the larger WYG team in providing support to FCAS (Fragile and Conflict Affected States) countries in Africa. The ultimate purpose of our work is to have a positive impact on people’s lives, and our team's collaborative efforts are achieving just that."
Some of our notable recent projects include implementing an Intelligent Transport System in Nairobi to transform the city's traffic network, supporting strong governance and poverty reduction through the Zanzibar Non-State Actors Support Programme (ZANSASP), and finally, drawing an infrastructure-oriented spatial plan to support a higher standard of living in Kismayo, Somalia.

Wishing all our colleagues, clients and friends a happy Africa Day.
