Whatever Moves You, was the theme of the week across WYG offices as fundraising got well and truly underway for the charity, Sport Relief – with combined efforts raising £500 and counting.
Sport Relief, the bi-annual charity event, took place during 17th – 23rd March encouraging the UK public to get active and donate to humanitarian organisations.
WYG fundraisers in Birmingham, Cardiff, Cockermouth, Leeds, Leicester, Manchester, Newcastle, and Southampton certainly got into the spirit of the theme, putting their best feet forward and syncing activities. We saw 5km fun runs, a mixed netball game, show stopper bake sales and sporting hero dress down days as well joining in with the nations billion steps a day challenge.
Special kudos goes to Andrew Clarke – Director in Urban Design from the Manchester office who completed an epic a swim-a-thon with his goal set high; to swim 26.2 miles in just 7 days!
Andrew spent a whopping 22 hours in the pool and finished his final few metres last Friday at 8.30pm. That’s 42,195 metres or 1,676 lengths of a 25m pool in total.
Shout out also to Emma Hayes, Senior Landscape Architect in our Cardiff office who topped the WYG Active leader board in the nation’s billion steps a day challenge. Emma managed 184,570 steps in total over the 7 days.
We couldn’t be prouder of our combined efforts, well done to all involved.
