A prestigious event hosted by the British Ambassador was held in Sofia, Bulgaria to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday on 15th June 2016.
WYG in Bulgaria was a proud sponsor of the reception which was attended by 600 guests including numerous governmental officials, mayors, ambassadors, key opinion leaders and representatives of world leading companies.
The event also celebrated the life and work of one of UK’s greatest playwrights and authors, William Shakespeare, as 2016 marks the 400th anniversary of his death.
Paul Hamer, Chief Executive Officer of WYG, attended alongside Georgi Georgiev, Managing Director, Lyudmila Stoykova, Head of Infrastructure Unit, and Dobromir Tenev, Legal Adviser, all three based at WYG in Bulgaria.
British Ambassador Emma Hopkins highlighted that the Embassy will continue to support WYG in its efforts to develop the capacity of the public administration and to grow the local economy by helping utilise EU funds in the most effective and efficient manner.
WYG’s presence in Bulgaria spans eight years. In that time, we have delivered numerous projects which include working for the Government of Bulgaria to develop the European Union - Bulgaria Partnership Agreement 2014-2020.
Georgi Georgiev, Managing Director of WYG Bulgaria, said: “We are extremely proud to be part of this successful social and business event.
