Multidisciplinary consultancy WYG has appointed Paul Houghton as Planning Director in its Edinburgh town planning team.
Paul has 26 years’ experience in a wide range of planning disciplines in both the public and private sectors and has secured planning permissions for numerous retail, commercial, office, industrial, mixed use, residential and renewables developments. He has been involved in around 100 planning inquiries and informal hearings in England and Scotland, as a witness and occasionally as an advocate.
Paul set up his own planning practice, Houghton Planning, in 2012. Before this, he was the office director of Turley Associates and then Alliance Planning in Glasgow. He had previously worked in the residential sector for Ryden Property Consultants and in local government in the Thames Valley.
WYG Planning Director Simon Chadwick commented: “We are delighted to welcome Paul at a time when our Scottish workload continues to grow. Paul will maintain and enhance our planning services in Edinburgh with particular regard to the retail and residential sectors.”
One of the top four planning consultancies in the UK, WYG has planning teams in 18 of its UK offices.
