We are delighted to announce the opening of our first office in West Africa, located in Abuja, Nigeria. This new entity will be managed by Adenike Omotoso, recently appointed as Business Development Executive, and will work with a local team of Nigerian experts to ensure the success of our donor-funded development projects in the region.
We already hold a strong track record of successful project implementation in the country, particularly in the Public Financial Management sector, and our success has been growing steadily. From £0.7million in FY2010/11, our turnover has since increased to £2.76million. The establishment of our first operational base in West Africa will facilitate collaboration with our network of local consultants and businesses.
Our current projects in Nigeria include the State Partnership for Accountability, Responsiveness, and Capability Programme (SPARC), funded by the Department for International Development (DFID). This programme supports state governments to formulate, monitor and evaluate responsive and appropriate policies and strategies, and our role in the consortium is specifically to develop public financial management and civil service capacity. WYG is also appointed as Evaluation Advisers for the £27.7 million PrOpCom Mai-karfi programme that focuses on making markets work more inclusively for poor men and women.
