WYG has been awarded a place on the £60 million Defence Infrastructure Organisation’s (DIO) Overseas Principal Support Provider (PSP) framework.
Working on behalf of the Ministry of Defence (MOD), the DIO has collaborated with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and other government departments to set up this framework to provide consistency and value for money across overseas government projects. This is a fundamental component of the One HMG Overseas strategy, which looks to harmonise the procurement and operational needs of the overseas estate.
WYG will deliver professional services overseas over the next four years, working closely with the MOD, FCO, and other government departments on key international projects. This will include technical and advisory services, covering multi-disciplinary design, project management, specialist surveys, as well as broader infrastructure capacity building, across the MOD estate and over 250 locations served by FCO around the globe. The framework will use mini-competitions to select the most appropriate, among the six suppliers, to deliver each programme.
Clive Anderson, Managing Director of WYG Advisory, said: “This is a great opportunity to strengthen our existing relationships with the MOD, DIO, and FCO, and build on the solid reputation we have established with each of these customers over many years.”
David Graham, PPD Deputy Head of International Projects at DIO, said: “We are pleased to welcome these fantastic suppliers on board following a successful procurement process. We look forward to working with them, FCO and other government departments to lead on projects that support our military personnel who live, train and work overseas.
“As the key government departments that manage overseas projects it is essential that we continue to work together to ensure a consistent approach to procurement of project management and other support for our overseas estate.”
It is expected that the pipeline of work undertaken by WYG overseas will increase significantly following this appointment.
WYG recently secured a place on the UK Government’s £2.9bn Crown Commercial Service (CCS) Project Management and Full Design Team Services (PMFDTS) framework.
In addition, WYG was also appointed sole provider of project management and technical services to the DIO for the whole of England and Wales for projects under £75million, as part of the DIO Regional Commissioning Model (RCM).
