WYG’s Southampton project management team has won a contract to deliver state-of-the-art teaching facilities for the University of Winchester.
The new building, which will be built on the West Downs Campus in Winchester, will provide first-class teaching and learning facilities and will be home to the University's new computer and digital-related degree programmes.
The WYG team will provide New Engineering Contract (NEC) project management and supervisor services. The team is highly experienced in commencing work on similarly progressed projects and three of its members are NEC 3 accredited.
Andrew Wright, WYG’s director on the project, said: “We are very much looking forward to project managing this flagship building – all the team live near Winchester and it is great to be able to support a local university. We have extensive experience in higher education projects which will inform the delivery of this building.”
Designed by architects Design Engine, the new building will include a law library, a 250-seat auditorium, art gallery, courtyard garden, café and food hall. The building will also form a greatly improved main gateway into the city centre from the south-west.
