WYG formed part of the professional team representing Reigate and Banstead Borough Council in securing a unanimous approval of a landmark town centre mixed-use scheme in Redhill, Surrey.
The scheme at Marketfield Road car park, is expected to significantly boost the town’s retail and leisure provision through the development of modern double-height glass-fronted shops and restaurants, attracting a range of retailers to the town. It aims to improve the town’s leisure through the development of a multiplex cinema which will complement the existing offering whilst allowing Redhill to compete more successfully with neighbouring towns and boroughs.
The scheme will make full and effective use of the town centre location, providing 153 much-needed homes within buildings ranging from five to 13 storeys. It will provide a range of regenerative benefits including bolstering the town’s evening economy and the creation of new jobs and homes whilst also improving the feel and aesthetic appearance of the town centre.
WYG provided the following services to Reigate and Banstead Borough Council:
John Reed, Head of Property, Reigate and Banstead Borough Council, said: “This important scheme will encourage investment in Redhill, allowing it to compete with neighbouring towns and boroughs. WYG formed part of the professional team that worked on achieving this important milestone.”
