The Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM), the leading professional body for scientists, engineers and other environmental professionals, has named Gary Winder as its Chair for its new global contaminated land network.
Gary is an environmental director from award-winning consultancy, WYG, and his appointment of Chair for the recently established contaminated land network comes as a great honour.
He said: “CIWEM’s vision for the network is to bring together all those interested in contaminated land so as to share knowledge and good practice, support the vital relationship between academic research and general practice and to be a sounding board for current and new initiatives.”
Gary Winder has over 20 years experience in environmental engineering and has been with WYG since 2004. His areas of particular specialism is the redevelopment of brownfield land, including the design and implementation of remediation strategies, environmental risk assessment, the control of abnormal development costs and contract management.
