Leeds-based WYG has won an ‘Award of Excellence’ at the prestigious Institution of International Communications (IoIC) Communicator of the Year (COTY) awards.
The IoIC has recognised WYG’s communications team with an award of excellence for the ‘Best in-house team – corporate’ award for the contribution towards WYG’s successful refinancing process.
The COTY awards are an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on a year of professional and personal achievement and the WYG communications team application focused on the Group’s successful refinancing and restructuring.
Susan Black from Group Communications at WYG said: “We are delighted that our work has been recognised externally by such a prestigious body. The Award recognises the significant contribution our communications activity played during the Group’s successful 11 month refinancing process.
“Even though the story was difficult and complex we received positive feedback from our stakeholders on how the communications process was managed and communicated,” She added.
Judges commented: “This small team achieved what essentially is the future of the organisation by the sheer hard work, thorough investigation of audiences. The project was executed skilfully and successfully, with all stakeholders kept informed in an appropriate and timely way.”
Events director Suzanne Peck comments: “More and more evidence is showing that effective internal communication helps to differentiate organisations positively in even the most challenging situations, bringing a whole raft of benefits from low staff turnover and sickness levels to enhanced customer satisfaction, quality levels and profits.”
