WYG has received notification of a further 'gold' award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), making it its ninth consecutive from RoSPA.
The RoSPA Awards scheme is not only about reducing the number of accidents and cases of ill-health at work; it also encourages organisations to develop robust Health and Safety management systems. The award shows a commitment to protecting the health and well-being of an organisation's people and stakeholders. As well as there being clear ethical reasons and legal requirements for good Health and Safety management, there is also a strong business case. RoSPA publicly honours organisations which have demonstrated their work to improve performance in this sphere. WYG will collect the latest gold award in May at the Health & Safety exhibition in Birmingham.
The consultancy is also pleased to have been certified RIDDOR free for the financial year ending March 2013. RIDDOR stands for the ‘Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995’, a UK statutory instrument that regulates obligations to report deaths, injuries, diseases and ‘dangerous occurrences’ that take place at work or in connection with work. The information enables the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and local government bodies to identify where and how risks arise, and to investigate serious accidents.
