Over 400 new jobs are set to be protected in Calderdale, West Yorkshire now that outline planning consent has been supported for a new residential development in Hipperholme.
WYG Planning & Design has secured outline consent for a residential development of up to 160 homes at Hipperholme on behalf of Crosslee, a major manufacturing company in Calderdale. The consent will ensure the reinvestment of the funds from the sale of the site back into the business.
Sue Ansbro, Planning Director, WYG Planning & Design said: “These proposals will assist in the economic regeneration within Calderdale by providing increased security for Crosslee, whilst providing a housing scheme that has the opportunity to deliver much needed local family accommodation in an attractive setting. The applicant team and Local Planning Authority have worked closely on this project to ensure that a wide variety of objectives for the company, the Authority and the local residents can be secured.”
The scheme will provide contributions towards increased apprenticeship training, school facilities, open space, affordable housing and sustainable transportation measures.
