WYG is pleased to announce its certification to the internationally recognised OHSAS 18001 occupational Health & Safety management system. Hugh Taylor from BM TRADA presented WYG with a certificate in formal recognition of this achievement.
OHSAS 18001 is an international specification that sets out a series of requirements for Health & Safety management systems, to enable organisations to control Health & Safety risks and improve performance. The development of the WYG Health & Safety management system started 2 years ago with a thorough initial status review. It culminated in a 6-month certification audit programme by BM TRADA, with WYG being recommended for certification in mid-September.
WYG is one of the first consultants in its industry to achieve certification to the OHSAS 18001 specification, which will provide a framework for the continual improvement of H&S performance across the Group. It will also enable the amalgamation of its Health & Safety
management with the ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 standards, making for an efficient and integrated approach to management of its business processes.
