Training experts from international consultancy, WYG have been officially certified to deliver environmental auditor training courses throughout Ireland.
WYG Training, part of the WYG Group, has been accredited to deliver the Internal Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Auditor course by the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA).
Delivery of these three-day courses, which enables delegates to undertake internal audits of their company's Environmental Management System, is a further accolade for the WYG team who were accredited as a Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) training provider in 2009.
WYG Training is currently delivering EMS auditor training to leading communications provider, BT.
Eve Hendron, Health, Safety & Environmental Manager, BT Ireland said: “The training we receive from WYG is of a very high standard and is extremely interactive. This made the material more meaningful and applicable to our own workplace. The course documentation provided has a good level of detail and I left the course feeling confident to use the skills and information learnt.”
Gary Sims, Environmental Services Director, WYG Ireland has many years experience in the field of Environmental Management Systems and is delighted with the achievement.
He said: “Our trainers have combined experience of over 40 years in the practical application of Environmental Management Systems across a wide range of industry sectors. The IEMA accreditation is the result of a rigorous assessment of our capabilities and is subject to ongoing monitoring.
“IEMA accredited training providers are few and far between but we have a strong knowledge of integrated management systems. We develop and audit systems to meet the international quality, health and safety and environmental management standards, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001. WYG also participated in the delivery of the very first pilot of the phased approach to EMS in Northern Ireland – the ‘Building Blocks: BS8555’ project and have access to a broad range of IEMA accredited trainers who form part of our Environmental team in Ireland.
“Having competent and trained auditors is hugely beneficial for companies such as BT and is a requirement of ISO 14001 and other management systems standards,” he added.
