WYG is delighted to announce the appointment of Ralph Henderson as General Manager in the Gulf area, based in Abu Dhabi.
Ralph has a demonstrable track record in leading and growing sustainable businesses in the region, having worked in both client and consultant roles.
WYG Chief Operating Officer, Graham Olver, said: “Ralph was a prime candidate. He brings considerable project management, roads and wider engineering expertise, combined with extensive local knowledge. I’m convinced Ralph will play a key role in helping us target, win and deliver profitable work in our Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region.”
A member of both the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation, Ralph has developed and managed complex multi-disciplinary, multi-national teams on a wide range of infrastructure projects in the Gulf, Greece and the UK including the Kuwait 4th Ring Road, the Egnatia Trans-European Motorway and Heathrow Airport Terminal 5.
Ralph is married to Jo and has two sons aged 18 and 21; since leaving the UK in 1997 he has lived in Greece and the Gulf. His interests include photography, classic cars and trying to keep fit. Ralph says “I am really looking forward to joining the WYG management team and using my experience to drive expansion in the Gulf as part of the MENA region”.
The appointment represents a further affirmation of the international multi-disciplinary consultancy’s plans to achieve continued organic growth in 2013 and beyond, and to increase its share of international turnover.
