Engineering & Environmental Consultant, WYG, is delighted to announce that it has been selected as the structural engineering consultant in the project team, which will deliver the new and improved facilities for Stoke Mandeville Hospital. This renowned hospital is a national centre of excellence for the care of people with spinal injuries.
The £30.5 million redevelopment will provide the hospital with a new Assessment & Admissions ward and a Children’s Centre. There will also be a new main entrance building comprising a Chaplaincy, a Restaurant, a Café, kitchens, patient services, a post room, staff dining areas and enhanced staff facilities.
The Stoke Mandeville Hospital Trust provides sub-regional specialist services in areas such as Reconstructive surgery and burns. This refurbishment programme will provide new facilities to the community both regionally and nationally, which will also include a new burns unit, a coronary care unit, new energy centre, speech and language therapy and Audiology/ENT units.
