Transport specialist SBA, part of the WYG Group, has appointed three new directors to drive forward and strengthen its transport and highways service.
With a combined 40 years of experience Paul Smith, Director; Victoria Balboa, Director and Mark Edwards Regional Director all bring a wealth of knowledge to the award-winning consultancy. Paul and Vicky, both formerly Directors with JMP Consultants Ltd, and Mark, previously Regional Manager at SKM Colin Buchanan, have expertise in development planning, transport and highway engineering and project management.
Working with the business’s abundance of transport specialists Paul, Mark and Vicky will not only continue to build and strengthen the company’s solid reputation but they will also add to the areas of technical specialism that the business can offer to its clients. What they all have in common is a passion for their field of expertise and an honest desire to work in a collaborative manner with clients and partners, building long term relationships which benefit all parties.
Iain Bisset, Managing Director, Transport, WYG said: “SBA is probably the UK’s leading transport specialist business in the commercial development market. It has been a part of the WYG offering since 2007 and holds a strong reputation for delivering innovative solutions. This injection of leadership talent allows us to not only safeguard our position in the markets where we are already well known but also build our profile overseas. The true strength of this business is not in what each of the individuals can offer but in how we operate as a team. In that respect, I don’t believe that we could have found anyone better.”
Paul, who brings experience in the arena of strategic land promotion and transport masterplanning for complex developments, will lead the London office alongside Directors Andy Savell and Vicky Balboa. Vicky has extensive experience in providing transport advice for high profile planning applications focusing on London and the South-East, recently providing transport advice to the successful Chelsea Barracks application.
Working out of the Manchester office Mark has expertise in providing transport and highways advice on development related projects across the residential, commercial, retail, leisure, education and environmental sectors. Mark is currently advising on a number of strategic housing and employment sites in the north of the UK.

Currently the team is working on a number of retail projects for Ikea, Hammerson, Lidl, Marks and Spencers, Westfield Shoppingtowns, Costco (UK) Ltd and Prupim Ltd, as well as advising on significant housing and employment sites for clients such as Church Commissioners for England, National Grid and Bloor Homes.
