The firm has been appointed by AMEC Developments to supply a multi-disciplinary package of services, which includes planning, for the 1.6 million sq ft scheme in the Aire Valley Employment Area. It is one of Yorkshire’s largest regeneration projects.
Land owners Halifax Estates will sell land on a phased basis to AMEC Developments to enable development of offices and industrial and distribution space at the 125 acre site in Pontefract Lane, Leeds.
WYG Leeds office will provide a range of environmental, ecological and transport advice and the firm’s planning arm will take a leading role by providing planning services and is working closely with Leeds City Council, in the role of planning and regeneration.
Sue Ansbro, WYG Director said: “This development is key to attracting new businesses to Leeds and push forward the city’s regeneration within the Aire Valley. It is located close to M1 Junction 45 and gives the opportunity to attract major business which may otherwise have been attracted to sites outside the District.”
