Global consultancy WYG has signed its first mutual cooperation agreement (MCA) with a leading engineering consultant group in Beijing as part of its ongoing international growth strategy.
The agreement with the Changjiang and Huanghe Corporation is the first of the consultancy’s plans to form several strategic MCAs between WYG and companies in China. The “WYG – Changijang and Huanghe Corporation Mutual Cooperation Agreement” aims to strengthen partnership and promote mutually beneficial cooperation between the two companies.
The official signing ceremony took place in Beijing where Keith Perry, WYG’s regional director met with the Zhiwen Yang, Director Changjiang and Huanghe Corporation to finalise the agreement.
Keith Perry said: “We are delighted to be strengthening our position within the Chinese business market and making this strategic alliance is a step further to building our foundations in this vastly developing country. As we continue to grow our international footprint we are also growing our global competitiveness delivering technical excellence and innovation to all our clients worldwide.
“The Changjiang and Huanghe Corporation are a leading engineering consultant group in Beijing and were identified as WYG’s first MCA with a Chinese company due to clear synergies between the two companies. The agreement is already bearing fruit, as we have identified a number of potential projects in China which we are actively investigating together,” he added.
The MCA covers most aspects of WYG’s expertise including environmental planning and management, sustainability and climate moderation, urban planning, design and transport planning and infrastructure planning and design.
Earlier in the year the award-winning consultancy announced its intention to expand its international footprint and operations by offering technical expertise across China, including the intention for a permanent office presence in Shanghai.
Over the coming months WYG will continue to forge relationships with China’s government agencies, multi-national organisations as well as various institutes, universities and private companies.
