WYG has been commissioned by Aberdeenshire Council and Aberdeen City Council in association with Network Rail, ScotRail and the Stategic Rail Authority to carry out a major feasibility study on upgrading passenger rail services in North East Scotland.
The study will investigate required improvements to the existing infrastructure in order to provide a regular half hourly service between Stonehaven and Inverurie. Likely improvements to the network include passing loops, improved signalling and a new station at Kintore, north west of Aberdeen.
The project consolidates WYG's position as a leading provider of multi-disciplinary rail services and follows on from recent successful studies in the north east of England.
