Ben is our UK lead for Ground Investigation (GI) operations with a particular focus on the technical output generated from the GIs along with maintaining the highest standards of Health and Safety.
With over 17 years’ experience in this field, he has extensive operational, commercial, and business development knowledge of the geotechnical market at senior management level. He is also a Fellow of the Geological Society and a member of the Technical Standards Committee of the British Drilling Association.
Ben has managed projects both in the UK and overseas (in the Republic of Ireland, Norway and Israel) and in a diverse range of environments that includes offshore facilities, nuclear sites, BDA Classified RED sites, railway tunnels, river culverts, reservoir embankments and listed structures.
He has a significant experience of geotechnical and contaminated land ground investigations including in situ testing, specialist down hole and surface installations with associated monitoring, specialist sampling of rock, soil and water and the detailed logging of soils and rocks to BS5930 (2015), including EC7.
Ben leads on large bids, from initial enquiry through to technical improvements and cost savings during the project lifecycle, and has excellent knowledge of key customers and target markets. He is also a member of our H&S Champions Group and leads the Site Investigation Skills Group sharing best practice across the group to improve technical output and enable innovative investigative methodologies.
