Michael over 20 years’ experience in environmental consultancy. He joined WYG as a Director in 2000 and, since then, has worked across the UK and Europe on a range of significant and diverse geo-environmental projects. His contribution to these includes environmental permitting and environmental impact assessments and he has particular experience in contaminated land risk assessment and remediation, hydrogeology and environmental due diligence.
Michael has led client teams on some of our most complex and sensitive projects. These include remediation works for the Maze Prison in Northern Ireland; an environmental assessment of the largest illegal landfill in Europe; and leading the environmental due diligence process for W&R Barnett’s acquisition of Tate & Lyle Global Bulk Storage business. He has also led several significant groundwater projects including the NI Groundwater Monitoring programme and the DARD Rural Borewell scheme to supply 300 remote rural dwellings with potable groundwater supply.
Michael is responsible for leading the commercial and technical development of our geo-environmental team across the UK. He has excellent regulator relationships, is a proven team leader and skilled at building strong client relationships. This approach has led to regular re-appointments on contracts for both public and private sector.
