A detailed planning application is being prepared by WYG, on behalf of Keeping Inn Ltd, to be submitted to North Tyneside Council for the construction of a new driving range with associated car parking including ancillary bar/restaurant, golf shop, golf academy and golf club changing facilities, creation of a new vehicular access and reconfiguration of Wallsend Golf Course.
The development will comprise of a 2-storey building with golf bays fronting the driving range at ground and first floor with the additional facilities extending back from the bays. The proposed siting of the new building, range and car parking will necessitate the reconfiguration of the existing golf course. This will provide an opportunity to enhance the quality of the existing course and new and existing members will also benefit from new changing rooms and car parking.
A new access is to be created off West Street as a prerequisite of the proposed development which will improve access for both existing and new customers and will result in significant betterment in terms of taking traffic off the residential streets and away from the school.
The views of local residents, businesses and stakeholders are being sought regarding the proposed development, giving them the opportunity to influence the proposals prior to the application being submitted to North Tyneside Council.
A public consultation event was held on the 31st January 2019 at Centurion Park. The documents available below show the boards that were available during the public consultation and provide further information on the proposed development.
