Our latest research on Midlands housing land supply shows that 73 per cent of West Midlands authorities and 65 per cent of East Midlands authorities claim a five year housing land supply.
The situation has only marginally improved since our last research in February. Then, nearly 35 per cent of East and West Midlands authorities did not have a five-year housing land supply. Now 30 per cent, or 21 of the 70 Midlands authorities, do not. Three have less than two y
However, local planning authorities do not always report the most up-to-date figures – of those that do have a five-year housing supply, some have not published new figures since our last update. Many also do not have up-to-date Strategic Housing Market Assessments that are compliant with the National Planning Policy Framework, or an adopted up-to-date Local Plan.ears’ supply.
