Alistair Gregory Head of Transport, Midlands
Alistair has undertaken area-wide transport studies in support of emerging Local Plans for several local authorities and managed the preparation of several Infrastructure Delivery Plans (IDP). He has also advised local authorities looking to introduce Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), providing infrastructure evidence inputs, assistance with Regulation 123 Lists, funding gap analysis and support at public examination.
Alistair has extensive experience of transport planning and multidisciplinary project management and has been involved with transport studies covering a wide range of private and public-sector development proposals including:
- Uttlesford Transport Study, Essex – District-wide transport study in support of the Council’s new Local Plan
- Newark & Sherwood Transport Study, Notts – Study examining the transport implications of planned Local Plan development within the district and identifying a comprehensive mitigation package. Advice on CIL and S106, support at public examination.
- Project Medius, Leicester – Transport Assessment and Travel Plan in support of a major new hotel, office and leisure development in Leicester City Centre. Involving creation of a new ‘super crossing’ over the Inner Ring Road to provide direct pedestrian accessibility. Involved close liaison with the City Council to secure approvals.
- Gedling Access Road, Nottingham – Transport Assessment for a major new access road to facilitate redevelopment of a former Colliery site and provide ‘bypass’ traffic relief to a congested area of Nottingham. Working for Homes England the project included extensive public consultation, public exhibitions and a technical presentation to council members to secure planning permission.
