Lee Morris Director - Landscape Architecture

Lee is a Chartered Landscape Architect (CMLI) and director in our Cardiff office with over 20 years' experience in landscape planning and design. He is head of our national team of landscape architects located in seven WYG offices across the UK.

His project experience represents the diverse role of landscape architecture in shaping the built environment, encompassing residential, mixed-use, regeneration, infrastructure, care, renewable energy, minerals and leisure-based projects. Past and present clients include many national developers, house-builders, landowners, energy generators, government bodies, local authorities, funders and national institutions for whom he has led landscape planning and design in the successful delivery of projects.

Lee has specific expertise in developing green infrastructure strategies and frameworks which improve people’s physical and mental well-being through social interaction, contact with nature and active lifestyles. His projects creatively incorporate environmental mitigation/enhancement measures and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).

His key projects include:

  • landscape master planning for mixed use and residential focused strategic urban extensions;
  • design and implementation contract administrator for environmental improvement, regeneration and public realm projects;
  • strategic and detailed design of recreation networks based on walking, cycling, trail running and mountain biking;
  • stakeholder consultation and hands on planning processes;
  • sustainable drainage systems and maximizing their wider benefits;
  • specialist landscape design for extra care and dementia care schemes;
  • renewable energy, energy generation and battery storage projects across the UK;
  • advice to national minerals and waste operators on landscape matters from project inception, through the planning stage, operation and restoration of minerals and waste sites; and
  • Landscape and Visual Impacts Assessment (LVIA) and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).  Lee is a Practitioner of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (PIEMA).
