Clean air is fundamental to the use of a building and The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare Regulations 1992) Regulation 5 requires mechanical ventilation systems to be cleaned ‘as appropriate’. People responsible for implementing this regulation at their establishments should adhere to an Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) to ensure these systems are cleaned and tested correctly and to reduce potential risks to employees and customers.
