The purpose of Ground Investigation (GI) is to determine ground conditions prior to construction work and reduce any hidden risks that may cause delay or impact on costs. In this highly technical field, our expert and highly qualified geo-environmental teams provide a service that is essential to the success of many projects.
Our fully qualified and site trained engineers undertake the roles of both Principal Designer and Principal Contractor on GI projects. Working from offices across the UK, our teams include Site Management and Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS & SSSTS) accredited staff and a dedicated Data Manager focused on developing methodologies and techniques for real time AGS data capture, acquisition and interpretation.
On diverse projects, in urban, rural, brownfield and coastal settings, our approach is always to innovate and offer procedural recommendations or alternative techniques above specification in order to maximise efficiency for both the GI and subsequent construction works.
As an experienced GI contractor we can call upon a wide range of additional expertise, from within our Group, to provide advice in relation to Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Geotechnical Design and Contaminated Land. However, we are not constrained by in-house plant and laboratory facilities and have established relationships with independent suppliers across the UK.
Our ground investigation capabilities include:
We are also long-standing members of the British Drilling Association with one of our team being a sitting member of its Technical Standards Committee.
